MARKEY TOWNSHIP PUBLIC NOTICE
The Markey Township Board will hold a Public Hearing at our Regular Meeting on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 7:00pm at the Markey Township Hall located at 7400 E Houghton Lake Dr., Houghton Lake, MI 48629.
The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing. The purpose of the meeting is to review proposed revenues and expenditures as well as review the current rates for the following Special Assessments:
Fire/Ambulance is 3.25 mills and Garbage Fund is $180.00 per unit and approve the L-4029.

This notice is posted in compliance with PA 267 of 1976 as amended (Open Meetings Act), MCLA 41.72 (2) (3) and Americans with Disabilities Acts (ADA). The Markey Township Board will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audiotapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting or public hearing upon 10 days notice to the Markey Township Board. Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services should contact the Markey Township Clerk.
Proposed minutes of the meeting shall be available for public inspection in the office of the Clerk not more than 8 days business days after the meeting.
